Life begins at forty. -W.B. Pitkin

Sunday we celebrated.
Uncle Jim turned 50! --- Happy 20th Anniversary of your 30th Birthday!

I have enjoyed greatly the second blooming... suddenly you find - at the age of 50, say - that a whole new life has opened before you. ~ Agatha Christie

And Ah..Hmm..I write this on the very last day of my thirties.

'Tis alright. I predict good times are ahead.

Aunt Cathy and Mimi threw a yummy party.

Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family.  Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.  ~Jane Howard

Did Anna enjoy herself, you ask?
I'm thinking most definitely - yes.

Our future babysitter...
Baby walked and walked...with her family.

And didn't stop until it was time to go.
Girl was happy.

The best part of motherhood is watching our little girl grow up among family. With people who absolutely adore her, who welcome her in and hold on tight. Who support, protect and love. And laugh.

I say it all the time and it doesn't get old. I can't believe my lucky stars.

As I blew out the candles on the cake and made a wish, I realized...it already came true.

Note seven cats on my corner of the cake.

Welcome 40. Hold on tight for the ride.
